A Case Report on Idiopathic-Multi-centric Castleman’s Disease Associated POEMS- Syndrome

Castleman’s Disease is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder of idiopathic etio-pathogenesis and was first described by Dr Benjamin Castleman in 1954. It rather disease entity clinical practice. However, the incidence cannot be ignored. may affect single lymph node (Unicentric CD) or multiple nodes throughout body (Multicentric CD). Management depends upon type severity early recognition condition. Our case report that 60-year-old female patient with underlying comorbidities including 2 diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism who presented complaints generalized weakness, weight loss, hair non-resolving muco-purulent rhinorrhea, bilateral pedal edema multiple, non-tender, firm mobile left sided Level I II ‘AJCC’ cervical lymphadenopathy >2cm which later biopsied diagnosed to associated POEMS syndrome. The aim this consider CD as differential diagnosis patients presenting similar picture identification treatment provide better prognosis. We would also like highlight 3 take home points: 1) significance histology differentiating it from other proliferative conditions. 2) LN excision bothersome can diagnostic considered therapeutic some extend even MCD. 3) Steroid therapy has beneficial effects control progression disease.
